The Common Core: Implications for Social Emotional Learning and Bullying Prevention
January 16, 2014
Presented by Katie Cristol, Consultant, Education First, Cambridge, Mass.
This session will focus on the Common Core State Standards, how they will change teaching and learning in our schools, and what they mean for social and emotional learning providers and programs. This presentation will include a brief introduction to the standards' history and current status, a discussion of the "shifts" and examples of changing instruction, and an exercise designed to crosswalk SEL skills and the Common Core. Following a 45-minute presentation, there will be a question and answer opportunity.
