Collaboration to Promote School Safety and Violence Prevention
The Center for Safe Schools partners with key state agencies and organizations concerned about school safety. They include the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, Pennsylvania State Police, and Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, as well as education associations representing school board members, administrators, teachers and parents. These collaborations ensure a coordinated statewide effort to create and maintain safe, productive learning environments. Additionally, the Center is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, National School Safety Resource Center, U.S. Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and National Crime Prevention Council as one of 16 statewide school safety centers in the nation.
