Using Age Appropriate Literature to Support Bullying Prevention

March 20, 2014

Presented by Leah Galkowski, Safe Schools Program Coordinator, Center for Safe Schools, Pa.

Expanding discussions regarding bullying behaviors into general classroom instruction can be challenging but literature provides a multitude of opportunities. Careful selection of literature can lead to rich discussion and active learning around bullying behavior, peer relationships, the decision-making process, citizenship, values and other aspects of student interaction. Participants in this session will be provided with current literature examples and strategies to incorporate bullying prevention themes throughout the curriculum.
